Alex Wong
Estate Planning Attorney · Woodside Legal Group, PC · Redwood City, CA

Alex Wong is an estate planning attorney serving families and business owners throughout the San Francisco Peninsula and greater Bay Area. His practice covers living trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and business succession.
Alex holds a J.D. and MBA from Santa Clara University, earned concurrently in 2012. Before law, he worked in corporate strategy, business development, and operations. Governance, fiduciary accountability, and long-term planning were daily work. That background shapes how he approaches estate planning: as a governance problem. Who controls what, under what conditions, for whose benefit, and for how long?
That perspective is most useful for clients with closely held businesses, real estate holdings, or complex family structures, where the legal, financial, and operational dimensions of a plan have to align.
Alex practices in Redwood City and serves clients across San Mateo County and the broader Peninsula. His clients want to understand their plan, not just sign it. Every document is walked through in plain English before anything is executed.
Outside the office, Alex has served on various non-profit boards in roles including Director, Treasurer, and Secretary and provides pro bono legal services through the Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County. He and his family are active members of the Peninsula community.
Admitted to the California State Bar in 2014. Bar No. 297998. Woodside Legal Group, PC is a California professional corporation.

How Alex works
Most estate planning attorneys hand clients a stack of documents and send them on their way. Alex holds a review meeting before anything is signed. He walks through each provision: what it does, why it is there, and what triggers it.
Fees are flat-rate for most estate planning services, quoted at the end of the initial consultation. No hourly billing, no surprise invoices.
Initial consultations are by appointment. Most clients complete their estate plan within two to three weeks of the first meeting.
